Commissions
Much of the work and ministry of the parish is done and/or coordinated through various Commissions. Organizationally, all of the Commissions have representation on the Parish Pastoral Council. The Commissions at St. Malachi include:

Spiritual Development Commission
The mission of the Spiritual Development Commission is to provide opportunities for prayer, education and other programs to deepen the experience of God’s love and to build community among God’s people. This is accomplished through these ongoing events/programs:
- Eucharistic Adoration
- Everyday Prophets
- Male Spirit Men’s Gathering
- Speaker Series
- Weekly Prayer
- Special Events
Volunteers are needed for the work of this commission. Talents/skills include being a committed, practicing Catholic, having a commitment to personal prayer and ongoing spiritual growth, patience, organizational abilities and marketing/promotional skills.
The time commitment required varies with the activity, but 4 hours per month would be beneficial.

Parish Life/Hospitality Commission
The mission of the Parish Life/Hospitality Commission is to create a relaxed atmosphere at parish gatherings and promote socialization and welcome; to plan and organize refreshments for such events; to collaborate with other commissions and parishes to plan activities which are of common interest; to assist with and support Coffee hours after liturgies; and to identify and create ways to welcome new parish members.
This advisory group supports the following ministries:
- Greeters Ministry
- Sunday Book Club
- Coffee Hour
- SMART (St. Malachi Adults Raising Tots, Tweens and Teens)
- Special Events
- Second Saturday Supper
Volunteers are needed. Talents necessary include a warm welcoming personality with the ability to work collaboratively with others, planning ability, and skills in preparing and providing refreshments and other aspects of social events.
The time commitment for volunteers varies. Planning is done at meetings, via phone or email.

Communications Commission
The Communications Commission is focused on providing open access to information about the services, events and ministries at St. Malachi Parish.
This is accomplished with the following ongoing projects/efforts:
- St. Malachi Parish Website
- Prayer Alert Emails to parishioners
- Social Media Outreach
- Print Publications regarding the Parish
Volunteers with skills in website development, graphic design, photography, videography, social media, writing or making phone calls are needed.

Stewardship Commission
The mission of the Stewardship Commission is to provide opportunities for parishioners to grow as stewards of God’s gifts by sharing of their time, talents and treasure as the individual is called by God to do. In addition, the mission is to promote a better understanding of stewardship as a way of life.
The Stewardship Commission conducts an annual ministry fair and does other educational outreach from time to time.
Volunteers are welcome for the work of this Commission. Talents/skills needed include organizational skills, participation in diocesan training regarding stewardship and a desire to provide opportunities for all to live as stewards of their world.
Time commitment include one meeting per month in addition to other meetings depending on current stewardship initiatives.
